Website Terms

Last updated: 24 August 2026

These terms govern use of quoteora.co.uk and the Quoteora quote-matching service operated by Quoteora, Bentalls House, Basildon, Essex, SS14 1LP. By using the website or submitting information, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What Quoteora does

Quoteora is an introductory lead-matching service. Homeowners may submit a project request free of charge. We may review the request and share it with up to three independent contractors that appear to cover the relevant trade and location. Contractors may pay Quoteora for access to project opportunities.

Quoteora is not the contractor, does not carry out home-improvement work and is not a party to any quotation or contract between a homeowner and contractor.

2. No guaranteed match or appointment

Submitting a request does not guarantee that any contractor will respond, visit, quote or accept the work. Contractors decide whether to pursue an opportunity, and homeowners decide whom, if anyone, to contact or appoint.

3. Independent contractors

Contractors in the network are independent businesses and are not employees, agents, partners or representatives of Quoteora. Application review, public-information checks, insurance requests, ratings or other quality signals do not amount to a guarantee, endorsement or warranty of availability, competence, workmanship, financial position, regulatory status or suitability.

Before appointing a contractor, homeowners should check identity, experience, insurance, qualifications, trade-scheme membership where relevant, references, written scope, price, payment schedule, cancellation rights and any necessary planning or building-control requirements.

4. Quotations and contracts

Contractors set their own prices and terms. Website cost guides are general estimates, not quotations. Any agreement for work is solely between homeowner and contractor. Quoteora is not responsible for deposits, payments, delays, damage, defects, variations, cancellations, guarantees, disputes or completion of the work.

5. User responsibilities

You must provide information that is accurate, current and lawful; use the service only for genuine home-improvement projects or genuine contractor applications; avoid abusive, fraudulent or misleading content; and not interfere with the website or misuse another person’s information.

Homeowners should tell Quoteora promptly if a project is cancelled or if contractors should no longer make contact. Contractors must use lead information only to respond to the relevant request, protect it appropriately, follow data-protection and direct-marketing law, and not sell or redistribute it.

6. Finance

Some independent contractors may offer payment or finance options through third-party providers. Unless Quoteora expressly states otherwise following the establishment of appropriate regulatory arrangements, Quoteora does not provide or arrange credit, provide financial advice, make lending decisions or guarantee approval. Finance is subject to the contractor’s and finance provider’s terms, eligibility, status and affordability checks.

7. Contractor applications and access

We may accept, reject, suspend or remove a contractor application or network access where reasonably necessary to protect users, maintain quality, respond to complaints, prevent misuse or operate the service. Separate contractor commercial terms, including lead prices, credits and refunds, may apply before paid leads are supplied.

8. Intellectual property

The Quoteora name, branding, website design and original content belong to the operator or its licensors. You may use the website for its intended personal or business purpose but may not copy, scrape, republish or commercially exploit it without permission.

9. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the website available and information accurate, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory consumer rights.

Subject to those protections, Quoteora is not responsible for losses caused by an independent contractor or homeowner, or for indirect or unforeseeable losses arising from use of this free matching service.

10. Privacy, changes and law

Use of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. Cookies are explained in our Cookie Policy.

We may update these terms and will publish the revised version with a new date. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory right to bring proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom where they live.
